Hi everyone. All this is great for those who have completed their supervision, but what about those who are under lifetime probation? I know a young man serving a 40 year sentence in Florida. Is there any hope for him to find refuge in Europe, by asylum or otherwise? I’m looking for advice to see what options if any he has when he gets out.
Be well everyone.
For lifetime probation – is moving out of Florida an option? If such a person ever tries for aslyum, they will ask what all was tried to get off probation and will have to show some sort of attempt(s).
As for a 40 year sentence. I’m assuming that the 40 years is not getting close to conclusion yet? Let’s say this person were getting out now, he’d have to wait a few years before leaving but he could still do so. Hard part would be the sort of visa he’d be getting. At such an age you are limited to options = most likely retirement or starting a business, depending upon the destination.
But who can say what the laws will be in 10, 20, or 30 years from now?
