<p>I am of the opinion that the people who have had trouble in Spain were all at the same airport (but I could be wrong as I don&#8217;t have all the details here in front of me).</p>

You&#8217;re still within the US jurisdiction so you don&#8217;t have to give 21-day notice, just the normal domestic travel notice of 48-72hrs. in most places, if the stay is over a certain number of days.</p>

None of the EU countries, that I know of, have something like rehabilitation, or at least not for foreigners.
